Jason Christie left quite a legacy with the Peoria Rivermen in their ECHL days.
Now the former Peoria player and head coach will try to do the same for the Bloomington Prairie Thunder.
Christie has been hired as new head coach of Bloomington's Central Hockey League team, according to sources on Tuesday.
The CHL club will hold a news conference to introduce him on Wednesday. |
Reported today on PJ Star website. Funny the Panty has nothing about it.....

nice find PP! thanks for posting!
Christie is the most experianced coach Bloomington has ever hired. He would not have been my first choice, but I am still happy with this. He also has many connections in the hockey world.

Better than some rookie coach or someone from the AAHL. I will take it. Now let's start finding some players.

true. I was a season ticket holder for his years in Peoria, and he really did build fun teams to watch. I am getting more excited about the more I sit here and think about it.

I think this is a great new chapter for the P/T. I know some people don't like him but he will stick up for his players, and do it wil class. He will have a hard working blue collar team. He will get the ship in Bloomington floating right.....

Excellent news! Now lets get down to business and finish putting a team together.
BTW...I see that Eminian can't help himself with the single A crap. Maybe we should raid his blog again?!?

I think that this is an excellent signing for the PT. This is the first time in the teams history that they will have a proven AA level coach......or maybe I should say single A level coach according to dip

Dave!
Well I pretty much said exactly what would happen with the signing of the last 2 coaches.....and the played out out almost to a T each time. Should I try and go 3 for 3? Don't think I can....being that we are in a new league.......I don't know much about....it would be hard to make a good educated guess. On top of that.....not much talent has been signed yet, so that makes it really tough as well. Maybe once the season is a about to start I will take a stab at it. Then I can kinda judge it by the players.
